Shoveling chicken risotto in my mouth, my neck muscles twitched. I couldn’t help myself. In order to absorb the tallest building in the world with my little eyeballs, I had to bend my neck backwards while eating. Let me say, I would do it again.
Jovee is a modern European and Japanese restaurant. It’s in an open-air section of the retail metropolis that is Dubai Mall. Look up directions before you go, because the scale of Dubai Mall can become an inescapable maze if you’re not careful.
Trust me, on an earlier excursion, I got lost for over an hour trying to buy new helix earrings. Eventually, I found Maria Tash.
I highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality, memorable earrings. Bring your directions! Okay, skip ad.

Reservations are a must at Jovee, because the tables with the best view fill up first.
I suggest a table along the edge of their outdoor balcony. Here, you can see the Burj Khalifa lit against the night skyline and Dubai Fountain. The pink, floral lights were my personal favorite.
Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest performing fountain. I wasn’t able to catch a show, but information is available on the Visit Dubai site. Even if there isn’t a show, looking at the serene fountain waters reflecting the city lights was beautiful.
At Jovee, you can enjoy elegant sips and delicious bites while staring at a view for the ages. You can view their menu on their website.
