Pinching testers, I smelled the aroma of four housemade coffee blends. I settled on “Maple Hill.” A mixture of vanilla, toffee, and apple notes, my flat white was scrumptious.
Raw Coffee Roasters’ option to select a blend based on scent is an absolute must in downtown Leeds.

With beans weighed by hand, the coffee was precise in both flavor and strength. Chatting with customers and providing a high quality product at a rapid pace, their baristas are true masters of coffee.
A variety of other drinks were also on the menu. My friends were raving about the blueberry matcha in particular. Nondairy milk options were also available as needed.
I chose a coconut pastry from the open-air countertop display. Being able to get close and personal to the desserts, I could hear them calling my name. The temptation was too great.

Sitting back with my sips and bites, I felt a sense of calm from the minimalism of the space.
With an industrial, grey interior complimented by natural lighting, Raw has a simple and inviting atmosphere. Tons of seating allows you to chat with friends since there was no WiFi to glue you to your screen. It’s just you, your bevy, and vibes.
Unplugged if you will.
Raw’s excellence does not come from being overtly extra or lavish. It comes from a focus on providing a “raw” experience. Specialty coffee and conversation in its purest form.
